Panasonic releases powerful new LUMIX DMC-GX85 with 5-axis image stabilisation, advanced sensor and 4K technologies

Panasonic has released the LUMIX DMC-GX85, featuring powerful new technologies including 5-axis image stabilisation (IS), an advanced sensor and 4K Photo and Video.

The DMC-GX85 is Panasonic’s first G Series camera to incorporate 5-axis in-body stabilisation. This operates during both photo and video recording, including 4K shooting, to deliver a superior performance with stable imaging in situations where that was not previously possible – from capturing images at slow shutter speed or with a telephoto lens, to handheld video shooting.

Furthermore, using any one of the 13 compatible Panasonic lenses, users can also enjoy Dual IS, which now combines the new 5-axis in-body stabilisation with the original 2-axis optical stabilisation in the lens. This provides class-leading stabilisation in both photo and video from wide angle to telephoto, and offers the photographer stunning effectiveness even when shooting handheld with lenses such as the LEICA DG VARIO-ELMAR 100-400mm.

The camera’s re-engineered 16 megapixel Digital Live MOS sensor sees the Low Pass Filter removed for even more highly detailed images, with an improvement in resolution of around 10 per cent[i]. At the same time, Panasonic’s new Venus Engine supresses moiré. The DMC-GX85 delivers sharper images than ever before for crystal-clear, true to life photo and video.

The DMC-GX85 has a new shutter mechanism, electromagnetically driven instead of spring driven, meaning a reduction in size for a smaller camera profile. In addition, the shutter is much quieter and shock caused by the shutter is virtually eliminated, providing extra confidence to the photographer, even in challenging shooting situations.

Panasonic gives DMC-GX85 users extra finesse in bracketing capabilities to capture the perfect shot. Focus Bracketing adjusts the focus point while maintaining depth of field – useful for precise macro shots; while Aperture Bracketing maintains focus while adjusting depth of field.

The DMC-GX85 backs these new capabilities with all the benefits of Panasonic’s 4K feature suite. 4K Video offers four times the resolution of Full HD and easy to use 4K Live Cropping for stable panning and zooming during recording.

4K Photo – now with a dedicated on-camera button – ensures total precision in capturing the defining shot with 4K Pre-burst mode which shoots 30 frames per second before and after the shutter is released. Post Focus mode allows the user to choose the focal point of an image, after the shot has been taken.

Doug Campbell, Senior Product Manager, Imaging, Panasonic, said: “The DMC-GX85 has similar lines to our breakthrough DMC-GX7 which proved incredibly popular with enthusiasts.  We’ve taken their feedback to offer a camera that supports vivid imaging with a powerful stabilisation system and precise features – designed for the meticulous photographer who seeks to express their creativity with that unique shot.”

Users who love dynamic black and white photography will enjoy the new ‘L Monochrome’ profile with rich gradation reminiscent of classic black and white film.

The DMC-GX85 has excellent ergonomics with a high-resolution 2764K-dot Live View Finder offering pin-sharp 0.7x magnification (35mm camera equivalent). For convenience, the Eye Sensor is activated simply by looking into the viewfinder, and the 3-inch 1,040K-dot rear monitor has a versatile tilting design.

The camera body has an attractive textured look. The front and rear dial system is crafted in high-quality aluminium and provides flexibility as well as complete control over the camera, while the solid grip is stable and comfortable to hold.

Other key features:

  • Contrast AF with Depth from Defocus technology offering high speed AF of approx. 0.07[ii] sec, and high-speed burst shooting at 8 fps (AFS) / 6 fps (AFC)
  • Low-light AF with autofocus in -4EV lighting
  • Starlight AF for capturing subjects like stars in the sky at night using autofocus
  • Other useful AF features include 49-point focus detect, Custom Multi AF, Face/Eye Detection AF and Pinpoint AF

Panasonic Announces Compact 4K Super 35 VariCam LT Cinema Camcorder

Panasonic has unveiled the VariCam LT, representing the next generation of 4K cinema cameras. The VariCam LT camcorder  inherits the same super 35mm sensor and superb imaging capabilities that distinguish the award-winning VariCam 35, but with significant reductions in size, weight and price.

Incorporating this identical imaging “DNA” in a more compact rendition, the VariCam LT (model AU-V35LT1G) delivers 14+ stops of dynamic range with V-Log, and the esteemed cinematic VariCam image quality and colour science, as well as the VariCam 35’s breakout innovation, dual native ISOs of 800/5000.

Weighing just under 2.7kg and having superior capability to similar sized cameras, the VariCam LT will be the ideal camera for handheld, SteadiCam, jib, crane, drone, gimbal and overall cinema verité work. The VariCam LT is likewise tailor-made for owner/operators, independent filmmakers, documentary makers and corporate production creators.

The VariCam LT delivers superb image handling in multiple formats ranging from 4K, UHD, 2K and HD, and like the VariCam 35, is fully capable of High Dynamic Range (HDR) field capture. The new 4K camcorder offers Apple ProRes 4444 (up to 30p) and ProRes 422 HQ (up to 60p) support for HD recording, as well as Panasonic’s AVC-ULTRA family of advanced video codecs.

New codecs introduced in the VariCam LT include AVC-Intra LT and AVC-Intra 2K-LT, both designed to offer capture rates up to 240fps in imager crop mode, ideal for sports and other fast motion footage.

Powerful colour management capabilities combined with VariCam’s extended color gamut and support for the Academy Color Encoding System (ACES) workflow allow for full fidelity mastering of original source material. The VariCam LT offers in-camera color grading, with the ability to record an ungraded 4K master along with all on-set grading metadata. A new colour processing feature is “V-LOOK,” which acts as a blend of V-Log and video, and allows filmic documentary acquisition without the same need for intense color grading.

The VariCam LT differs from the VariCam 35 in being a one-piece, short-bodied camcorder vs. a two-piece camera head plus recorder. While the VariCam LT does not feature parallel sub-recording, it does have an SD slot for high-resolution proxy recording. Proxy files can be wirelessly uploaded via FTP, which facilitates wireless color grading. Variable frame rates are available with LongG6 recording.

There is one expressP2 card for all formats including high frame rate and HD/2K/UHD and 4K recording (the 256Gbyte expressP2 card can record up to 90 minutes of 4K/4:2:2/23.98p content). RAW output from SDI is planned to be supported by a firmware upgrade later in 2016.

The VariCam LT features an EF mount (vs. the VariCam 35’s PL mount), suitable for the wide array of lenses available for smaller cameras.* The EF mount can be switched out to a robust standard PL mount, expanding the range of compatible lenses that can be used. The control panel can be separated from the camera body to facilitate real-time control and easy menu access. The camcorder has a production-tough magnesium body to assure durability and reliability in challenging shooting locations.

Other features new to the VariCam LT are power hot swap, IR shooting (further enhancing the camcorder’s extreme low-light capture at ISO 5000), 23.98 PsF output, and image presets as scene files.

Among the camcorder’s top-level production assets are ND filters (CLEAR, 0.6, 1.2, 1.8), an optional OLED electronic viewfinder (EVF) with optical zoom functionality, 24-bit LPCM audio for in-camera audio master recording, Focus Assist, anamorphic lens de-squeeze, special REC functions (PreRec, interval, one-shot), IP control via Panasonic’s AK-HRP200 camera remote controller, and built-in GPS.

Professional interfaces include: 3G-HD-SDI x 3 (SDI-OUT X 2 and VF), LAN, genlock in, timecode in/out, USB2.0 Host and USB2.0 Device (mini B), and three XLR inputs (one 5-pin, two 3-pin) to record four channels of 24-bit, 48KHz audio.

Panasonic camcorder lineup offers picture perfect recording for memorable family moments

Panasonic Australia has introduced three new camcorders to its 4K ultra high-definition lineup (the HC-WXF990MGN, the HC-VXF990GNK and HC-VX980MGNK) and three to its Full HD camcorder lineup (the HC-W580MGN-K, the HC-V380GN-K and the HC-V180GN-K).

This year’s range offers outstanding 4K quality as well as clever editing tools and simultaneous recording, allowing users to capture memorable moments in stunning quality and create creative and engaging videos to share.

MODEL RRP
HC-WXF990MGN (4K) RRP $1,399
HC-VXF990GNK (4K) RRP $1,299
HC-VX980MGNK (4K) RRP $999
HC-W580MGN-K RRP $599
HC-V380GN-K RRP $449
HC-V180GN-K RRP $349

The new models will be available in March 2016 from selected photo specialists and consumer electronics retailers.

Outstanding 4K at the touch of a button (HC-WXF990MGN, HC-VXF990GNK, HC-VX980MGNK)

These new compact and lightweight 4K camcorders build on the success of Panasonic’s first 4K camcorders which were introduced to the market last year.  By combining a wealth of advanced imaging technologies such as the LEICA DICOMAR lens, back-illuminated sensor and Crystal Engine 4K, beautiful 4K images that boast four times the resolution of Full-HD can be captured for later viewing.  In addition, high-speed, high-precision auto focus technologies, highly critical for 4K shooting, help to increase image quality further.

When recording in 4K Photo mode, the user can obtain 8-megapixel still images of decisive moments, choosing from an incredible 30 frames per second.  No matter how fast the action, you will never miss the perfect shot.

The HC-WXF990MGN, HC-VXF990GNK and HC-VX980MGNK add new versatility to editing with the 4K Cropping feature that cuts out Full-HD resolution video from 4K footage internally within the camcorder. It allows post edit effects to be added to a recorded video, such as zooming, panning, tracking and stabilising. The edited video is saved in Full-HD format, with the benefit of retaining high definition and crisp detail.

The HC-WXF990MGN and HC-VXF990GNK also offer a tiltable viewfinder to make it easier to capture subjects more precisely. Cinema-Like Effects allow you to apply creative techniques to your video, similar to those seen in the movies, such as Slow & Quick Video, Slow Zoom, and Dolly Zoom.

For example, by combining Slow Video and Quick Video, the user can add dramatic effects to motion-filled scenes. Slow Zooming, which is also often used in cinema films and difficult to do manually, is easy to operate. It lets the user add tension to otherwise simple scenes, and express emotional shifts in subjects. The Dolly Zoom technique zooms only the background while maintaining the subject’s size to express feelings such as confusion, distress, or surprise. The resulting footage can be thrilling and create suspense in the film.

Capture everyone’s memorable moment with simultaneous recording (HC-WXF990MGN, HC-VXF990GNK, HC-VX980MGNK, HC-W580MGN-K and HC-V380GN-K)

Wireless Multi Camera is a new function evolved from Panasonic’s original Wireless Twin Camera, which enables picture-in-picture recording using a Wi-Fi-connected smartphone as a sub-camera.

While Wireless Twin Camera links to only one smartphone, Wireless Multi Camera connects to as many as three smartphones and records up to two sub-window images instead of one. This lets the user shoot from a variety of angles and viewpoints to add interest and impact that simply is not possible with a single-camera view. It opens up a range of shooting possibilities from capturing different angles of a performance, to allowing the family member shooting the scene to become part of the story.

Twin Camera lets you capture alternate shooting scenes (HC-WXF990MGN and HC-W580MGN-K)

The Twin Camera feature with a pan/tilt sub-camera on the edge of the LCD monitor allows simultaneous recording of images from two different angles. Also provided are a Narration mode that emphasises the camera user’s voice in recording and a backup function that simultaneously records images without the sub-window, giving great flexibility to the user.

5-Axis Level Shot function for blur and tilt-free images (All models)

The new camcorders ensure level, vibration free shooting, so those once in a lifetime opportunities are stable and sharp. Panasonic’s Level Shot function automatically detects tilting and levels the image. The HYBRID O.I.S.+ (Optical Image Stabiliser) uses five-axis correction to thoroughly suppress blurring, whether you’re shooting wide-angle or powerful zoom shots, making it possible to capture crisp, clear images in almost every shooting situation.

Versatile zoom (All models)

Panasonic’s three HD models boast a remarkable 50x optical zoom and 90x Intelligent Zoom, allowing you to get closer to the action from sports to scenery. The 4K HC-WXF990MGN, HC-VXF990GNK and HC-VX980MGNK have a versatile 20x optical zoom.

Wide angle capabilities also allow film makers to include more people and more of the background in the frame for truly cinematic results. This is handy when you want to take a group photo in a small room, or fit your subjects in even when you are shooting from up close.

Wi-Fi Function (HC-WXF990MGN, HC-VXF990GNK, HC-VX980MGNK, HC-W580MGN-K, and HC-V380GN-K)

These camcorders include the Baby Monitor feature which enables you to check on a sleeping baby in another room with the camcorder connected to your home network. You can call out to the baby using your smartphone or have a notification sent to your smartphone when your baby’s crying voice or another sound is detected. You can also provide live streaming of video over the Internet using USTREAM.

*Length of pan/zoom approximately either 20 seconds or 40 seconds.

*The viewfinder and LCD monitor cannot be used simultaneously.  Also, since the icons displayed in the viewfinder cannot be operated, open the LCD monitor for touch operation.

This telephoto lens offers outstanding performance with incredibly fast Depth from Defocus, and Power O.I.S that works with Panasonic’s Dual I.S system. It is weather sealed, making it highly durable for long days in the field, and is significantly smaller, lighter and more cost effective than comparable SLR lenses.

Key Features

Capture your travels in outstanding quality: LUMIX DMC-TZ110 and LUMIX DMC-TZ80

The new DMC-TZ110 is a premium compact travel camera that boasts performance typically associated with expensive interchangeable lens models. Despite the camera’s small size, the latest addition to the LUMIX TZ range combines a host of features to make it the perfect travel companion for even the most demanding photographers and videographers.

A large 1-inch MOS sensor combines with Panasonic’s Venus Engine to capture consistently bright and beautiful images. The 1-inch sensor’s large pixels are capable of capturing more light, even when photographing at high ISO. Whether taking pictures on a sunny beach or during a candlelit dinner for two, the camera’s exceptional low light performance ensures crisp, clear and natural results with minimal noise.

The LUMIX DMC-TZ110 is the first in its series to incorporate a F2.8-5.9 LEICA DC lens, which allows you to achieve crystal-clear images with amazing detail. The lens also features a versatile 10x zoom range of 25mm-250mm (35mm camera equivalent), making it ideal for photographing all your adventures, wherever your travels take you.

The LUMIX DMC-TZ80 incorporates an 18M high sensitivity MOS sensor, allowing you to capture even the finest details of your travels. The DMC-TZ80’s outstanding optical capability is underpinned by a high-end LEICA lens with 30x zoom (24-720mm), offering versatility from high zoom to close-up shots. The camera’s powerful performance far outweighs its compact body.

Both DMC-TZ110 and DMC-TZ80 models stand out from the pack with Panasonic’s suite of 4K capabilities. They offer 4K video recording that fits in your pocket, with four times the resolution of Full HD to bring the sights and sounds of your travels to life.

Panasonic’s 4K Photo mode incorporates 4K Pre-burst mode which shoots 30 frames per second before and after the shutter is released, to capture the decisive moment with total precision. Even fleeting events such as the exact moment you hit the water diving into the sea, can be captured and enjoyed for a lifetime.

Another new addition to the LUMIX TZ range is Post Focus mode which, once set, allows you to choose the focal point of an image, after it’s been taken. Post Focus uses the LUMIX autofocus capabilities to calculate the distance between the camera and the subject, capturing optimal focus for 49 individual areas within each frame. Once the photo is taken, you can then use the touchscreen to select the exact area you want to focus on – from the minutiae of your subject’s eye, to an individual bird as a flock takes flight. What’s more, from a single photo you can export multiple shots with different focal points.

Once you’ve captured an array of beautiful photos and video, these LUMIX cameras make it fast and simple to share them with friends and family. Using Wi-Fi and the Panasonic Image App, it is easy to connect to a smartphone or tablet, allowing you to post to social media almost as soon as images have been recorded.

Additional features:

  • 3.0-inch 1,040k dot touch screen
  • 5 AXIS HYBRID O.I.S and Level Shot functions
  • 10fps burst photo mode (full resolution – 5fps with AF)
  • Face / eye tracking AF
  • In-camera RAW data development
  • Wide Panorama function
  • Full wireless control and photography via the Panasonic Image App

Beautiful shots in the sharpest focus: Panasonic introduces creative, easy to use ‘Post Focus’ mode: Available on LUMIX DMC-GX8, DMC-G7 and DMC-FZ300 4K cameras

LUMIX introduces the first Compact System Cameras and Bridge camera to allow users to select their preferred ‘in-focus’ area after taking their shot

Panasonic is set to release the innovative ‘Post Focus’ mode, which enables the user to select the subject they wish to be in focus, after the photo has been taken.

With each shutter press, ‘Post Focus’ mode captures all possible focus points from foreground to background. Ideal for situations such as macro or food photography, the key benefit of the new mode is the ability to refine the image post-shot to get sharp, accurate focus on a precise area and then select a preferred shot or number of shots.

‘Post Focus’ mode will be available later this month as a free software download for the following LUMIX 4K cameras: DMC-GX8 and DMC-G7 G Series cameras and the DMC-FZ300 compact super zoom.

Scott Mellish, Business Manager, G Series, Panasonic, said: “‘Post Focus’ is designed for macro shooting, food or portraiture where perfect focus is a must in achieving that great creative shot. When the moment is fleeting, you can use this mode to capture your image, with flexibility in deciding on the absolutely ideal focus point after the event. You can take your shot and then review and select your preferred focus point so it is pin-sharp.

“An added benefit in this mode is access to adjustment tools such as Focus Peaking and 5x magnification to really fine-tune your image to the smallest of details and achieve stunning results.

The video below demonstrations how to use ‘Post Focus

Post Focus’ is available on the LUMIX DMC-GX8, DMC-G7 and DMC-FZ300 by updating the firmware to version 2.0. Australian consumers can download the upgrade from 26th November (GMT/CET 1:00am, November 25) at the LUMIX Global Customer Support Site: http://av.jpn.support.panasonic.com/support/global/cs/dsc/index.html.  The firmware that enables the DMC-GH4 to comply with Post Focus is scheduled to be released in early 2016.

Panasonic introduces scalable optical disc library system to meet increasing demand for long-term data storage

Panasonic has leveraged its optical drive technology, media technology, and sophisticated robotics technology to develop the Data Archiver LB-DH8 Series, a scalable optical disc library system that meets the need for long-term data storage. The Data Archiver is displayed for the first time in Australia at the Panasonic Business Showcase.

To meet the need for long-term storage at data centres, which are increasingly being built and enlarged worldwide, Panasonic’s Data Archiver allows multiple data storage modules to be configured in a server storage rack according to customer requirements, with high- volume optical disc storage of up to 638.4 terabytes per rack. Digital data is doubling every two  years  and  by  2020  the  digital  data  generated  worldwide  is  estimated  to  reach 44 zettabytes, or 44 trillion gigabytes.

Grant Stewart, National Manager, Professional Solutions, Panasonic Business Systems, said: “Australian businesses have identified the need to store ever-increasing data as one of the major challenges they face todayii. We are currently looking at partnering with local systems integrators to bring our solution to the Australian market.”

“Using  the benefits  of the  durability  of  optical discs,  Panasonic’s  system  can  safely and reliably store large volumes of digital data over a long period at low running costs to support customers’ information asset management,” Stewart added.

The system is designed for high-capacity, high reliability and high-speed data transfer. It consists of a data archiver magazine holding data storage discs and three types of modules: a bottom module (magazine carrier), a base module (magazine recording and playback unit), and an expansion module (magazine loader). The base module can house up to 76 data archiver magazines, each storing 1.2TB of data. A maximum of 91.2TB can be stored in each module. The 19-inch rack holds up to seven modules to achieve high-volume optical disc storage of 638.4TB max. per rack. Storage can be expanded according to the amount of data to be stored.

Panasonic’s newly-developed robotics technology has allowed this module configuration   to be achieved. The magazine carrier in the bottom module quickly transfers data archiver magazines housed in each module to the writer unit. In the writer unit, twelve discs in a data archiver magazine are loaded to ensure smooth writing and reading of large volumes of data.

RAID technology is used for high-speed data transfer at up to 216 MB/sec, ensuring high reliability that protects data from unforeseen failure. Recordable Blu-ray optical discs that have a storage life of 50 years are used to eliminate the costs of regular data migration. Standby power consumption is 7Wiv, reducing running costs.

Since optical discs are highly resistant to changes in temperature, light, humidity and ageing, they can be stored at room temperature, eliminating the costs associated with air conditioning during storage. Concerns about physical wear are eliminated, as optical discs are a contactless medium. Additionally, the data archiver magazine drawer is detachable  and data can be withdrawn and physically transferred by the magazine in the event of emergencies, which is useful for BCPs.

The depth of the archiver is 927mm, allowing it to be installed in standard 1,000mm racks  at data centres and facilitating its use in existing customer environments.

Dedicated management software: Windows/Linux

The system can be easily connected to an existing IT system via LAN using Data Archiver Manager softwarev provided with Data Archiver Manager (server OS: compatible with Windows). CIFS network protocol supports the NAS head function. Multiple Data Archiver units and all data archiver magazines can be managed as a single logical volume.

Panasonic has also developed a data archiver manager supported under Linux that can handle large-scale systems by extending its object storage technology. Magazines are managed by controlling the input/output of files using RESTvi based API. A single name space  functionvii   enables  management  of  large-scale  archive  data  and  configuration  of scalable storage. The NAS head function is also enabled. Australian  pricing  and  availability  for  the  Data  Archiver  LB-DH8  Series  is  yet  to be announced.

Panasonic announces AW-UE70, industry’s first professional 4K integrated PTZ (pan/tilt/zoom) camera and AW-SF100G Auto Tracking Software

Panasonic is set to release the professional video industry’s first integrated 4K pan/tilt/zoom camera, the AW-UE70. The AW-UE70 delivers 3840 x 2160 resolution images at 29.97p/25p via HDMI, and is also capable of 4K IP streaming and incamera 4K recording.

The AW-UE70 offers crisp 4K footage and precise control for applications including remote studio use, auditoriums and stadiums, lecture and conference rooms, videoconferencing and collaboration, events, and reality show production.

Mathew Alexander, Product Marketing Manager, Broadcast and Professional Video, Panasonic, said: “The market for integrated cameras is growing quickly in Australia. Applications are expanding from remote TV or radio studios and reality TV programming to corporate boardrooms, and the higher education market where they support streaming of distance learning or broadcasting to ‘overflow’ rooms on the same campus.”

“We are also excited to release the AW-SF100G ‘Auto Tracking’ software. It is designed to be used in conjunction with the AW-UE70 camera, as well as the AW-HE40 and AW-HE130 cameras, and will automatically lock on to an object which is moving.”

“The biggest area of interest is around lecture capture. The software will allow the operator to lock onto a lecturer who is walking back and forth, and follow them so they are always in frame. The software detects object movement, not facial recognition, so the lecturer can turn their back or side to the camera, to write on a whiteboard for instance, and still be tracked. It can track without a sensor or token on the lecturer so it is easy to use,” Alexander added.

Key features

In addition to 4K 2160/25p, the AW-UE70 camera delivers many international HD signal formats including 1080/50p, 1080/50i, 1080/25p, 1080/25PsF and 720/50p.

Standard IP-control, built-in audio input and Power over Ethernet enables innovative ‘singlecable’ installation. A USB Webcam for videoconferencing and collaboration, a 20x zoom lens, preset functions, and wide field of view (65.1°) mean the camera offers operational flexibility.

The AW-UE70 offers key features aimed at production such as genlock, Optical Image Stabilisation (O.I.S), and remote switchable ND filters. The camera comes with 3G-SDI as well as HDMI video outputs and incorporates a 1/2.3-type MOS sensor and advanced processing. It also boasts direct from camera audio/video streaming up to 2160/30p and incamera video and audio recording to a microSD card at 2160/25p or 1080/50p.

IP, RS-422, and RS-232C in/out interfaces are included, as well as a built in web server which enables both browser control and IP-live preview, for up to 16 cameras, from PCs, Macs, and mobile devices. RS-422 Serial or IP control is available using Panasonic’s AWRP50, AW-RP120G controllers, AK-HRP200G paintbox, and the AW-HEA10 control assist camera, as well as appropriately programmed systems from Crestron, AMX, Winnov, and other manufacturers.

The AW-UE70 includes many powerful features that expand the capabilities of professional video system users. The combination of Panasonic’s Dynamic Range Stretch (DRS), advanced Digital Noise Reduction (DNR), and an ingenious High Dynamic Range (HDR) mode means crisp and clear images, even in extreme contrast and lighting conditions.

The AW-UE70’s Night Mode makes it possible to shoot in virtually total darkness, by automatically switching to high-quality, HD monochrome video with the use of an optional IR illuminator – making the camera ideal for reality shows, sleep lab research, and staging support.

The AW-UE70 incorporates a highly-accurate pan-tilt head (with a pan of ±175° and a tilt of –30° to 90°). This enables precise, fast, fluid movement in all directions, for the capture of both slow and fast-moving objects without excessive vibration and bounce. The AW-UE70 is available in black or white at $7,499 RRP, with the AW-SF100G Auto Tracking software priced at $2,428 RRP. The new solutions will be available in November from specialist Panasonic Broadcast distributors and resellers. Panasonic announces high-impact, high-reliability video wall

The new 55-inch LED video wall promises high visibility, reliability and installation flexibility

Panasonic has released a new 55-inch LED video wall display that offers high impact, high reliability, and installation flexibility. The new TH-55LFV70 video wall has a bezel that is only 3.5mm wide at each join, for a near seamless appearance.

The panels can be mounted in landscape or portrait mode to suit the application, with up to 100 panels able to be configured and controlled in a single wall. The 55-inch panels are built to offer high visibility wherever they are installed. To ensure excellent performance from all angles in brightly lit showrooms or shopping concourses, they offer 700 cd/m2 brightness, an IPS LED panel with a wide viewing angle, and an anti-glare surface that reduces the reflection of ambient light.

Chris Maw, Product Marketing Manager Panels and Projectors, Panasonic, said: “Video walls now offer greater ease of installation, operation and affordability, with reduced total cost of ownership giving them appeal to a much broader range of customers.” “They are an excellent solution for customers wanting a high-impact display to promote sales such as car dealerships or boutique clothing stores. They stand out from the crowd and are ideal for displaying information in large areas from airports to convention centre lobbies.”

Panasonic video walls are simple to install, saving on labour and time. The panels are shipped with colour pre-calibrated so there is no adjustment necessary during installation and the modular mount uses magnets to ensure all panels are perfectly aligned. Additionally, a wall is easy to maintain as the panels can simply be removed from the mount. Video, audio, and control signals can be distributed to up to nine panels using a DIGITAL LINK single cable daisy chain. This removes the requirement for a splitter and simplifies the control of a multi-screen system.
