New Panasonic Refrigerators deliver proven fresh food technologies, improved hygiene and style

Panasonic has today launched two stylish new Refrigerators, crafted to optimise food longevity and deliver convenience.

  • NR-BX421BUSA – 2-door 422L Bottom Mount Refrigerator with stainless-steel finish
  • NR-BX421BPKA – 2-door 422L Bottom Mount Refrigerator with gloss black finish

Built on Panasonic’s 65 years of experience in appliances, these 422-litre refrigerators utilise the brand’s well-established fresh food and hygiene technologies.

Ginger Yu, Product Marketing Manager – Appliances, Panasonic Australia, said: “We have developed this range to deliver state-of-the-art cooling and food storage technologies that offer maximum flavour and convenience. Our unique soft freezing Prime Fresh+ technology saves users time with no need for defrosting when preparing food. In addition, the Ag Clean filters suppress up to 99.9 per cent of bacteria and odours[1] that can cause food spoilage.”

“These new models feature fresh and safe storage, while minimising energy wastage. It really is a win-win for our consumers.”

PANASONIC FRIDGE FEATURES (NR-BX421BUSA & NR-BX421BPKA)

SOFT FREEZING WITH PRIME FRESH+ TECHNOLOGY

The range is equipped with unique Prime Fresh+ Freezing™ technology that locks in the nutrients and flavour of meat and seafood by ‘soft freezing’ it at -3°C. Unlike regular freezing, soft freezing doesn’t damage cells, preventing deterioration of food through forming a seal and retaining freshness. Foods such as beef, chicken, pork, lamb or fish can be cut up easily and cooked without the need for defrosting first, saving you time from prep to plate. Prime Fresh+ Freezing™ also works on stocks, soups and sauces, allowing you to turn your liquids into a semi-frozen texture that is easy to scoop and quick to reheat.

FRESH SAFE DRAWER KEEPS PRODUCE FRESH FOR LONGER

The refrigerators also include a Fresh Safe drawer for your fruits and vegetables. This crisper maintains 90 per cent[2] humidity and a constant temperature to retain moisture and keep produce fresh and crisp for longer. The airtight drawer design and indirect cooling also helps prevent spoilage, so you never open the drawer to nasty surprises.

CLEAN & HEALTHY STORAGE

Both models feature an Ag Clean antibacterial and deodorising filter which cleans circulated air, suppressing up to 99.9 per cent[3] of bacterial growth and unpleasant smells that could cause food to spoil more quickly. The Ag Clean filter uses the power of silver ions to deactivate bacteria and odours.

ENERGY SAVING

For those looking for high energy efficiency, Panasonic’s newest model impresses with three types of intelligent ECONAVI sensors (fridge door sensor, internal temperature sensor and room temperature sensor), which monitor usage across a three-week period. Based on the information received, the intelligent inverter optimises cooling performance while reducing your electricity bill.

MULTI COMPARTMENTS FOR OPTIMUM FOOD STORAGE

Both models feature easy and flexible food storage with spacious, multi-compartments.

USER FRIENDLY, FUNCTIONAL STORAGE

  • LED Lighting: shines from the top to prevent shadows and enable easier viewing.
  • Height Adjustable Shelves: arrange shelves to match the size of items for more efficient storage and convenience.
  • Strong Tempered Glass Shelves: all shelves are made of tempered glass that can withstand loads as heavy as 150kg.
  • Removable and Washable Parts: remove shelves, door pockets and other compartments to easily wash.
  • Twist Ice Tray: once the ice cubes are ready, just twist the lever to drop them into the ice box.

REFRIGERATION WITH STYLE

Both models boast a chic design with seamless and frameless edges, providing a sophisticated look to match any kitchen. The NR-BX421BUSA features a stainless-steel finish, presenting a sleek linear appearance, while the NR-BX421BPKA has completely flat black glass look doors. Easy to clean on the inside and the outside, this range is a must-have.

The 422L Refrigerators have a four-star energy rating and are available now from leading consumer electronics retailers. Please see pricing below:

Panasonic releases world’s first* Telephoto Zoom Lens achieving full range F1.7: LEICA DG VARIO-SUMMILUX 25-50mm / F1.7 ASPH. (H-X2550)

*As a digital interchangeable lens for a mirrorless camera, as of July 8, 2021

Panasonic is proud to introduce a new telephoto zoom digital interchangeable lens, the LEICA DG VARIO-SUMMILUX 25-50mm / F1.7 ASPH. (H-X2550). The G Series lens delivers impressive video and stills shooting for professional users.  It boasts a large F1.7 aperture throughout the entire 50-100mm zoom range with exceptionally high optical performance clearing the stringent LEICA standards.

This new LEICA DG VARIO-SUMMILUX 25-50mm / F1.7 ASPH. (H-X2550) has been designed to be a pair with the current, highly acclaimed LEICA DG VARIO-SUMMILUX 10-25mm / F1.7 ASPH. (H-X1025). Together, these two lenses are the equivalent of eight prime lenses, covering a focusing distance from wide angle to telephoto (20mm / 24mm / 28mm / 35mm / 50mm / 75mm / 85mm / 100mm, 35mm camera equivalent). They provide amazing versatility in a videographer’s kit with beautiful bokeh and a common aperture, high descriptive performance, shape and operability.

James Choi, Product Marketing Manager, Imaging, Panasonic, said: “We’re excited to add the LEICA DG 25-50mm F1.7 lens and expand our comprehensive line up of G Series lenses that offer high optical performance for both photographic and cinematic applications, such as interviews and documentaries.”

The lens is compatible with the LUMIX G sensor drive at 240fps to take advantage of the high-speed, high-precision auto focusing. Silent operation is achieved by the inner focus drive system. A stepless aperture ring and the micro-step drive system in the aperture control section allow the camera to smoothly catch up to brightness changes when zooming or panning. The optical design achieves exceptional barycentric stability to minimise image shifts during zooming, while a focus ring provides intuitive, precise focusing and incorporates linear/non-linear settings. The lens excels in video recording performance with a mechanism that suppresses focus breathing across the entire zoom range.

The H-X2550 boasts a minimum focusing distance of 0.28m (at wide end, 0.31m at tele end) and the maximum magnification ratio of 0.42x (35mm camera equivalent) for superior macro photography. The lens has a rugged dust and splash-resistant design[i], and is freeze-proof down to -10° Celsius.

The lens system comprises 16 elements in 11 groups, with an aspherical lens and three ED (Extra-low Dispersion) lenses that suppress axial and magnification chromatic aberration as well as spherical aberration and distortion. The use of aspherical lenses and the optimum design of the lens system results in stunningly high resolution in a compact, lightweight lens. The filter diameter of the lens is 77mm.

The LEICA DG VARIO-SUMMILUX 25-50mm / F1.7 ASPH. (H-X2550) will be available in August 2021 from leading photographic specialists with an RRP of $2899.
